Soon the RAVEN would be the preferred control surfaces of major studios, engineers, producers, artists, and educational institutions like Mark Needham, Terry Lewis, Will.i.am, Jimmy Douglass, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, Full Sail University, and SAE. If the entire production studio was on a computer screen, why not turn the actual computer screen INTO a world class control surface? And the RAVEN series of Multi-Touch consoles was born. So back in 2012, Slate Media Technology came up with a solution. But what has been lacking with the modern digital studio, is the same powerful workflow as what was accomplished on tactile mixing consoles. Powerful Digital Audio Workstations have transferred the entire recording studio into a virtual environment where all elements of the studio appear conveniently on a computer screen. (I should probably switch to some other product that isn't so sophisticated/expensive/confusing for a non-pro, but I've been using ProTools for over 15 years and have dozens of concert recordings archived in this format. In the past decade, the technological revolution has transformed audio into a medium that is produced and delivered in the digital domain.

It seems like a simple question: must I buy the upgrade to 11 or not? But apparently there is no way to ask anyone at Avid without forking over $40. Do I have to buy the upgrade to 11? Will that even solve my problem, or might something else be the cause of it? will vastly benefit loading plugins and projects 1 This product is not compatible with macOS 10 3 OS X iTunes.

I just want to get my Pro Tools working again. How many gb is logic pro x sound library. I don't do anything but edit 2 track stereo sound files of live concerts, and don't know if any of the many compatibility problems involving Avid products such as Media Composer and others even apply to me. I'm not sure how easy it would be to re-install an earlier (out-dated) Mac OS, if that is my only recourse. Another webpage implies PT11 is compatible with OS10.9.1 but not 10.9.3. Maybe that means OS9 or above, but it certainly isn't clear.

When I started to order the $299 upgrade, the specifications say it works with Mac OS 9 (Snow Leopard). So maybe that is the source of my problem.Īpparently, the upgrade Pro Tools 11 is compatible with OS 10.9. It has been working OK, but the last couple of days it now no longer recognizes that I have proper permissions to create a new session or save one I've managed to open and work on.įrom what I can find on the website, it looks as if Pro Tools 10 is not supposed to be compatible with "Mavericks". I'm running simple Pro Tools 10.3.7 on an iMac with the latest Mac OS 10.9.3.
